Anti-scratch coating is great for resisting scratches - but it does not prevent scratches. The coating is applied with a silicone-based solvent and involves dipping the lens on both sides into the solvent. It leaves no color or tint behind and will not obstruct your vision in any way. Anti-scratch coating is meant to prevent minor scratches to the surface of the lens.
