For working outdoors with a tablet or phone, non polarized lenses are usually recommended. Many digital screens use polarized filters, and polarized sunglasses can make the screen appear very dark or difficult to see at certain angles.
A neutral gray or smoke tint works well because it reduces brightness without altering colors, making text and icons easier to see on the screen.
If you move between indoor and outdoor environments often, photochromic lenses can also be a convenient option since they darken in sunlight and clear indoors.
